My Beauty, Skin Health & Nutrition Expertise, As Featured In:
Feeling confident in your skin becomes even more important as we move into our forties and beyond. Yet so many women suddenly notice changes they never expected, dryness, breakouts, dullness, sensitivity, redness or a loss of firmness.
Your usual products stop working, your skin feels unpredictable and you are left wondering what on earth changed.
The truth is that your skin is responding to hormonal shifts, stress, lifestyle changes and the natural ageing process. These changes can begin long before menopause, often starting in the early years of perimenopause or simply as part of life after 40.
My own journey with skin began much earlier. As a teenager I struggled with acne, and it shaped my confidence and my understanding of how deeply skin health affects how we feel. That experience triggered a lifelong fascination with hormones, skin health and the science behind what truly works. I trained as a beauty therapist at 18, qualified as a CIDESCO beauty therapist and later added nutritional science and functional medicine so I could approach skin from every angle inside and outside.Today I am an international number one bestselling author, award winning beauty therapist, registered nutritional therapist and educator in beauty therapy with over 30 years of experience in women’s skin health. I also teach, which keeps me closely involved in training the next generation of beauty therapists and grounded in the real-life skin concerns women bring into the treatment room. My book number one best-selling book Have a Magnificent Menopause: A Straightforward Guide to Looking Good and Feeling Great reflects the practical, evidence-based tools I use to help women understand their skin whether they are 40 plus, in perimenopause, navigating menopause or in the years that follow. My work has been featured in worldwide leading publications and media outlets including The Telegraph, Cosmopolitan, Woman’s Own, Marie Claire, Livingetc, Saga and Stylist. I also regularly speak at events, conferences and industry gatherings to educate professionals on women’s health and menopause care.
I have poured all my expertise in women’s health, hormones, skin and lifestyle medicine into creating the Meno Massage Method™, a unique mind body concept that blends specialised massage movements, nervous system support, breathwork, reflex inspired touch, nutrition and lifestyle medicine. This concept is now being introduced in selected salons and spas to support women at every stage of the 40 plus journey with a more thoughtful, hormone aware approach to touch and relaxation.
Across everything I do, my focus is on supporting women with clear, trustworthy, realistic advice. My approach blends professional beauty therapy, functional nutrition, lifestyle medicine and hormonal understanding so skincare becomes effective, achievable and grounded in how the body truly works.
“The right skincare is powerful, but the right lifestyle and nutrition behind it is transformative.”

What Happens to Skin After 40
Many women experience:dryness or tightnessnew breakouts or congestionredness or increased sensitivitypigmentation or uneven tonefine lines becoming more visibleitchydull, flat looking skinthinning or crepey texturea loss of firmness around the jaw and cheeks
Skin changes in your forties and beyond are very common and for many women they begin long before menopause. Hormone fluctuations, stress, lifestyle shifts and a natural decline in collagen all contribute to noticeable changes, including those linked to perimenopause and menopause.
These changes can feel unsettling, but they are not permanent. Once you understand why your skin is changing, you can begin supporting it with the right skincare, nutrition and lifestyle tools.
“Beauty is not lost with age. It simply evolves and your routine needs to evolve with it.”
— Alison Bladh
