Nectarine Fizz Mocktail

This Nectarine Fizz is a lovely example of how a drink can feel celebratory and indulgent without alcohol or added sugar.

Why nectarines work so well in mocktails

Nectarines are naturally sweeter than peaches and have a softer, rounder flavour. When ripe, they don’t need any added sweeteners, which makes them ideal for low sugar mocktails.

Blending fresh fruit rather than using juice also keeps more fibre, which helps slow sugar absorption and supports steadier energy.

Ingredients (makes 4 drinks)

  • 3 ripe nectarines, peeled, pitted and chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Sparkling water, to top up

  • Ice cubes

  • Optional garnish: nectarine slice or a twist of lemon zest

How to make it

Add the nectarine chunks, lemon juice and vanilla to a blender and blend until smooth.

For a lighter, more aerated texture, add 2 tablespoons of the purée to a shaker with a handful of ice and shake for 10 seconds. This step is optional but gives a lovely, frothy finish.

Pour the purée into champagne flutes or wine glasses, then top with sparkling water. Stir gently once, garnish if you wish, and serve chilled.

Why this supports women’s health

Using whole fruit rather than syrup keeps this mocktail naturally sweet without refined sugar.
A small amount of lemon helps balance sweetness and can support digestion.
Vanilla adds warmth and comfort without adding calories or sugar.

This combination makes the drink feel like a treat, while still supporting blood sugar balance and energy.

A realistic approach to alcohol free living

Many women don’t miss alcohol itself, but they miss the ritual and the feeling of having something special. Drinks like this help bridge that gap in a way that feels satisfying rather than restrictive.

Small swaps, repeated often, are what make the biggest difference to how we feel over time.
