From Hot Flashes to Harmony: Reclaim Vitality through Nutrition and Lifestyle Changes with Alison Bladh
I recently had the pleasure of being a guest on a podcast hosted by Dr Gillian Lockitch, where we had a warm, honest and practical conversation about menopause, midlife health and what really helps women feel better in their bodies again.
In this episode, we talked openly about the challenges so many women face in their 40s and beyond. Anxiety, stubborn weight gain, poor sleep, digestive issues, skin changes and that feeling of not quite recognising yourself anymore. These are not personal failures. They are often signs that your body needs different support at this stage of life.
Drawing on over 35 years of experience in women’s health, nutrition and aesthetics, I shared how small, realistic changes can make a powerful difference. We explored how to rebalance hormones through food, support metabolism at a cellular level, improve sleep quality and calm the nervous system without extreme diets or perfection.
One of the key themes we discussed was individuality. There is no single menopause plan that works for everyone. Nutrition misinformation can be confusing and overwhelming, which is why understanding your own body is so important. What works brilliantly for one woman may not suit another, and that is completely normal.
We also touched on mindset. Menopause does not have to be something to fear or fight. With the right support, it can be a positive transition into a strong, confident and energised phase of life.
What you will hear in the episode
Why women often struggle with anxiety, sleep and weight in midlife
Simple nutrition shifts that can support hormones and energy
How stress and sleep affect ageing, skin and metabolism
Why evidence based nutrition still needs to be personalised
