A Low Sugar, Alcohol Free Drink That Supports Women’s Health

If you love a drink that feels a little bit special but you do not love the sugar crash or the hormonal fallout, this one is for you. My Pomegranate Pink Pepper Spritz is alcohol free, low sugar and refreshing, with a grown up flavour.

It is one of my favourite swaps when you want something sparkling and uplifting without disrupting sleep, mood or energy.

Why choose a low sugar alcohol free drink?

In my clinical work, I see how often alcohol and sugary drinks can worsen symptoms such as poor sleep, anxiety, hot flushes, bloating and weight gain. Many women notice these effects more strongly after 40.

Choosing low sugar, alcohol free options is a simple way to support steadier energy and fewer cravings, without feeling like you are missing out.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml unsweetened pomegranate juice

  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice

  • 60 ml cooled green tea, brewed strong

  • Sparkling water to top up

  • Ice cubes

  • 4 to 6 pink peppercorns, lightly crushed

  • To garnish: lime wheel and a fresh rosemary sprig

How to make it

Brew the green tea and allow it to cool completely.
Fill a glass with ice.
Add the pomegranate juice, lime juice and cooled green tea.
Lightly crush the pink peppercorns and add them to the glass.
Top with sparkling water and gently stir.
Garnish with a lime wheel and rosemary sprig.

Pomegranate is rich in antioxidants which support skin health and healthy ageing. Using an unsweetened version keeps the sugar load lower while still giving you flavour and colour.
